Thursday, April 11th

Arrive Marseille

  • Transfer to hotel in Aix En Provence
  • Walking tour of Aix or time at leisure, depending on flight arrival times
  • Welcome Dinner
  • Overnight at Grand Hôtel ROI René Aix-en-Provence

Friday, April 12th

University Clinical Visit, Aix-en-Provence and President’s Dinner

  • Breakfast at the hotel followed by a Clinical Symposium (2 hrs).
  • Lunch and afternoon at leisure to explore and discover Aix on your own.
  • Optional Tour—Drive through the foothills of St-Victoire Mountain, which greatly inspired French painter Paul Cézanne, and visit a traditional winery in the Côtes de Provence St-Victoire winemaking region.
  • President’s Dinner

Saturday, April 13th

Towns of the Luberon

  • Breakfast at the hotel followed by a Clinical Symposium (2 hrs).
  • The rest of the day we spend exploring the hill towns and villages that make up the Luberon.
  • Dinner at leisure

Sunday, April 14th

Avignon and transfer to Lyon

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
  • This morning we will discover the complex history of Avignon.
  • Lunch and free time at leisure before departing for Lyon.

 

 

LYON

France’s third largest city, is in no way third-best. In fact, many say Lyon gives travelers a taste of authentic French culture, not to mention some of the most masterful cooking in the world, which is why the city is often hailed as the gastronomic capital of France. Founded in 43 B.C. on the convergence of the gleaming Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon’s long history is still on view today, from its Ancient Theatre of Fourvière to its Renaissance-era district Vieux Lyon.

Tuesday, April 16th

University Clinical Visit and Lyon

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • University Clinical Visit. Spouses and guests will have a visit to La Croix-Roussen, once the epicenter of Europe’s silk industry.
  • Lunch and afternoon at leisure to explore and discover
  • Lyon on your own.
  • Board Meeting

BURGUNDY

Burgundy (Bourgogne in French) offers some of France’s most gorgeous countryside: rolling green hills dotted with mustard fields and medieval villages. Two great French passions, wine and food, come together here in a particularly enticing way. Burgundy’s vineyards have been granted Unesco World Heritage status in recognition of the region’s centuries-old history of viticulture and the remarkable diversity of its winegrowing terroir (land).

Clinical Symposium and Beaune

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out followed by a Clinical Symposium (2 hrs).
  • Transfer to Beaune. Charcuterie lunch and wine tasting at Maison Champy.

Thursday, April 18th

Dijon and Albert Bichot Winery

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Walking tour of Dijon. Lunch and afternoon at leisure to explore and discover Dijon on your own.
  • Albert Bichot Winery visit and tasting or time at leisure in Beaune.
  • Dinner at leisure
  • Overnight at Hotel Le Cep

Friday, April 19th

Beaune

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Members Meeting
  • In the afternoon, we break up into smaller groups for some quintessential Beaune experiences.
  • Visit of Hospices de Beaune, a hospital foundation from the Middle Ages and one of France’s most prestigious historic monuments. It’s flamboyant Gothic architecture, its polychrome roofs and a renowned vineyard make this museum one of Burgundy’s gems.
  • Wine and cheese tasting
  • A visit to the last independent and family mustard mill in Burgundy, La Moutarderie Edmond Fallot.
  • Farewell Dinner at Clos de Vougoet
  • Overnight at Hotel Le Cep

 

 

Saturday, April 20th

Market Day and transfer to Paris Airport

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out
  • Time to explore Marché de Beaune to discover the variety of French delicacies and goods for sale.
  • Transfer to CDG Airport hotel with lunch in Chablis enroute.
  • Overnight at Pullman Hotel
